Heather Step is mom to Nicholas, born June 2012. After enduring five years of infertility he was totally worth the wait! She has also founded a network for South African Mom Bloggers. Heather had a husband for almost 15 years, but in June 2018 a devastating stroke kept him immobile in hospital for more than three months until he died in October. Infertility pales in comparison with this new struggle, and the blog has taken on a different direction to document her new life in widowhood. Heather also moved from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth and after many years of teaching in the classroom now teaches online.
