Visit with Dr P

April 11, 2011 by heatherss 6 Comments

Well today I went to visit Dr P. He is a homeopath and acupuncturist. He is also a lecturer. He lectured my friend who was studying homeopathy and is now working for him.

So first of all I was thrilled to see her and we had a nice chat. We also made plans to meet up. It was so good to see her. She has been bugging me for ages to see this guy, so at last here I am!

Dr P is a nice Indian guy. He looks like he knows what he is doing. I can tell he likes to lecture because he did tell me a lot of stuff. He took me through the menstrual cycle. He even got out his text books at one point. But it is evident he has helped a lot of women get pregnant naturally and helped with medical interventions too. His oldest patient was 46!

He felt my “pulses” on my wrist – he says the kidney and the lung meridians need help. I told him about my previous acupuncturist and how he helped with my liver meridian (anemia) but Dr P says that can wait, these other ones are more important. He showed me diagrams of how they are all interlinked.

He asked me also about my personality and childhood and how I deal with things. He looked at my tongue and eyes. He asked about my favourite tastes (sweet).

I told him about my plans for the IUI in August, and how I really needed support for that. He seemed to think it is worth a shot to try and get me pregnant naturally before then. I explained that I have an issue with money, would rather invest in acupuncture before the procedure, but he said: let’s just try this week (after I said I was on cycle day 10).

So I am going there on Wednesday and Friday. Well, you never know. Miracles can happen.

I then sat in the dark with the needles. He didn’t do so many, just as he says, the relevant ones (hands, wrist, ankles and around my stomach). I restrained myself from getting out my blackberry to listen to circle bloom and had a sleep instead. It is very relaxing.

I was just listening to Nicola Smut’s recording from the fertility summit (will work through all of them gradually) which I found very interesting to listen to. The encouraging thing is that she said Aries have the next 8 months of opportunity to conceive.  This is encouraging because it encloses a lot of time including when I was planning that procedure.

I am hopeful, but also doubtful. I was so hopeful last year, and going through all this again is tough. But I have to get through this toughness and just try.

He asked me what is my philosophy: I said I don’t give up easily, and I’m willing to change my plans.  Everything I have learnt so far is just preparing me to make better decisions in the future.

Now to decide: go with my same gynae or investigate a new fertility clinic? And to be brave enough to pick up that phone..

Good luck! It’s so hard to stay positive at all times, I think it’s wonderful you have the tools you have, like EFT, meditation etc to cope with it all. I think it’s in our nature to find ways and not to give up.

He sounds good–I loved going to acupuncture. It’s just so relaxing and nice. I really hope he can get you knocked up before you need that IUI!
