Last year this time I was sitting in hospital with a tiny baby.
Nicky has since tripled his weight and is now 9.95kg!
We celebrated the passing of his first year with a Winnie the Pooh themed party. My in laws were also here to help (and bake) which contributed to a fantastic time.
He enjoyed his ball pit very much.
I got a whole lot of ideas off the internet, so that my food fitted in with the theme:
Eeyore Tails Licorice:
Hot dogs: Piglets in a blanket:
Kanga’s Pita Pouches:
Tigger biscuits:
Winnie the Pooh cupcakes:
Food from Rabbit’s garden:
Winnie the Pooh cake:
We sang happy birthday and I blew out the candles for him.
As easily predicted, Nicky enjoyed playing with the wrapping paper and pushing his present around more than the actual present itself. He got some nice books, clothes, his own cellphone (plastic), some shakers, a bean bag and trains. He is a lucky boy.
I went to a lot of trouble to make party packs which I forgot to hand out, but will drop them off. I made little honey pots with play dough. The play dough was quite a mission to make. I first tried flour and then went with cornstarch, which mixed much better.
Nicky wore a Winnie the Pooh baby gro with his Springbok shirt underneath.
All in all a fantastic party.
