A new start: One step at a time

[subscribe2]Welcome to my new blog space!

My old space was constantly getting hacked, so this is my new spot.

So, why “One step at a time” ?

Well, I think in life it helps to take things one step at a time. It is overwhelming to do things all at once. You might have noticed that this title is also a play on my surname, Step.

I also really like the song by Jordan Sparks. It is a good reminder about how we need to be patient when we want things all at once, without understanding that Rome was not built in a day and we need to take things bit by bit.

I think this has been especially true for me when it comes to infertility: I really did want it all at once, but it truly has been a process of procedures, injections, operations, pills, and finally… Nicky! My miracle baby. The same theme continues into motherhood: we have to have patience as he hits his milestones in his own time (solids being a case in point) and not get impatient.

Here follows this upbeat song: a nice catchy anthem for life appreciating moments and taking things one step at a time. And, in all kinds of situations,

When you can’t wait any longer

But there’s no end in sight

It’s the faith that makes you stronger

The only way we get there is one step at a time………………

Hurry up and wait so close but so far away

Everything that you’ve always dreamed of

Close enough for you to taste but you just can’t touch

You wanna show the world but no one knows your name yet

Wonder when and where and how you’re gonna make it

You know you can if you get the chance

In your face and the door keeps slamming

Now you’re feeling more and more frustrated

And you’re getting all kind of impatient, waiting

We live and we learn to take

One step at a time there’s no need to rush

It’s like learning to fly or falling in love

It’s gonna happen and it’s supposed to happen

That we find the reasons why, one step at a time

You believe and you doubt

You’re confused and got it all figured out

Everything that you always wished for

Could be yours, should be yours, would be yours if they only knew

You wanna show the world but no one knows your name yet

Wonder when and where and how you’re gonna make it

You know you can if you get the chance

In your face and the door keeps slamming

Now you’re feeling more and more frustrated

And you’re getting all kind of impatient, waiting

We live and we learn to take

One step at a time there’s no need to rush

It’s like learning to fly or falling in love

It’s gonna happen and it’s supposed to happen

That we find the reasons why, one step at a time

When you can’t wait any longer

But there’s no end in sight

It’s the faith that makes you stronger

The only way we get there is one step at a time

Take one step at a time there’s no need to rush

It’s like learning to fly or falling in love

It’s gonna happen and it’s supposed to happen

That we find the reasons why, one step at a time

One step at a time there’s no need to rush

It’s like learning to fly or falling in love

It’s gonna happen and it’s supposed to happen

That we find the reasons why, one step at a time

I really like that song too. 🙂 It’s the only way to get though life. The idea of one step at a time, not the song! LOL!
