Get to Know Me…

November 9, 2015 by heatherss 3 Comments

get-to-know-meI have been tagged by Jolene from Monster’s Ed to answer a few questions about myself! So here goes…

1. Are you named after someone?

Nope. My parents just liked the name.

2. When was the last time you cried?

I do cry. I’m emotional. Today I cried reading Nicky’s Bambi book because it’s so sad when his mother gets shot and the dad has to explain to him that she can’t be with him anymore.

3. Do you have kids?

Yes: one. Nicky – he is 3.

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

Yes. I’m a good friend.

5. Do you have a guilty pleasure?

Yes. Me time.

6. Do you like handwriting?

I’m not obsessed with it but I can write neatly if I want to.

7. What is your favorite cereal?

I used to like things like coco pops but generally I’m not really a cereal person. These days I have Oats for breakfast – we are trying different flavours.

8. What is the first thing you notice about people?

I notice how they make me feel – I like people who are accepting and easy going.

9. What color are your eyes?

Hazel. That’s browny green.

10. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings.  I’m a romantic. I hate scary movies and will never watch them.

11. Favorite TV show?

Bachelor. Grey’s Anatomy. Revenge. Suits.Comedies.

12. Summer or winter?

I feel the cold so probably summer.

13. Hugs or kisses?

I love hugs.

14. What’s the furthest you’ve been from home?

I’ve traveled to both the US, Europe and Taiwan. Teaching English in Taiwan for a year and a half was a huge experience for me.

15. Do you have special talents?

I can teach a child to read. I can write.

16. Where were you born?

Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

17. What are your hobbies?

Blogging, reading, the internet.

18. Do you have any pets?

Yes. Coffee and Milo – our two dogs.

19. Favorite movie?

This is tough one. As a teen I loved Dirty Dancing. I also loved Confessions of a Shopaholic. Legally Blonde. Erin Brocovich. I like romantic comedies but I also like a strong female lead.

20. What color is your car?

White.

21. What did you want to be when you grow up?

It’s changed over the years. I wanted to be a Journalist when I went to Rhodes. Then I majored in Psych and wanted to be a psychologist. Then I went overseas to teach and wanted to be a teacher, which I did for many years. I think most of all I just wanted to be a mom, and I finally got my wish when Nicky was born.

I tag Shaney from You, Baby and I, Laura from Harassed Mom & Cassie from Life with a Ladybug.

Interesting to learn a bit more about you.

I can’t have oats as a cereal only in baked items. It’s about the texture.

Love your dogs’ names – very unique
