Infertility Videos

October 21, 2011 by heatherss 4 Comments

I am still floating in a cloud of joy. Really, this is just the best thing that could have happened and I am so unbelievably blessed and grateful.

My blood count on Monday was 708.5 (up from 160.7 on Friday) which is just great. No morning sickness, although I expect it to be coming along!

What I really want to tell you all today is about a video series put together by Redbook called “The Truth about Trying”

I started watching these videos and my heart just melted.

These are real women sharing their stories.

There’s even some celebrities in the mix. We have Padma from Top Chef talking about her endometriosis. Wow, it is awesome to know such a lovely lady also has similar problems to me. And like me, diagnosed quite late.

I really liked some uplifting videos: “It’s ok not to have kids” – she is so positive about where she is and “I didn’t need a baby to find happiness” – about how infertility has made her stronger and more at peace.

What I’ve lately been learning though, is that you have the right to shop around for the right doctor, ask questions, and get the right treatment. And this is echoed in the videos. I’m sure it is one of my fave bloggers SIF who is behind “All fertility clinics are not created equal.” Amen, sister.

From me, it is about: “Don’t be afraid to change doctors.” I firmly believe that this one of the key decisions that got me where I am now. Expert care breeds fertile results. Believe me it took a lot of courage to pick up that phone and make the first appointment, but now I am so glad I did.

You can watch my video here. (obviously made before I found out I was pregnant!)

thanks Cattiz, but as it turns out I did need them very much! Not for IVF, but for the operation and the blood tests and getting me on the right medication… I am very grateful to them.
Thanks for all your commenting and I’ll keep following you and your pregnancy.. 🙂
