Hello Bleeps!
I feel like I am catching up a few days now. We had our school concert on Saturday afternoon and the lead up to that has been so hectic. In fact the whole week we have been preparing for this event with Friday night also being a late night.
My dad and his colleagues have also been visiting at the same time which has been nice. My dad is so accommodating and understanding and still took us out on Friday night for supper. It was great apart from when we got stuck in unbelievable traffic on the William Nicol exit due to traffic lights being out. Welcome to Joburg and all our power failures. So glad we don’t live in the Fourways area anymore – I remember there used to be a lot of those.
We were trying to get to Montecasino for the eat as much as you like Tuscan buffet, but shelved that idea and went to the Spur at Fourways mall. Then last night when I got back late they organized take always for themselves. But I have promised to make it up to them by cooking tonight.
The concert (African voices theme – Mango Groove, Brenda Fassie, Miriam Makeba, Johnny Clegg) went really well and I have ordered the DVD. My group did a great “Johnny Clegg” performance. We also had all our awards given out which were quite a mission to lay out and organise.
Anyway, back to the reason for this post.
I have some awards of my own to give out.
Bron, over at Mommy Are We There Yet? has given me the Liebster Blog award.
Liebster is a German word meaning dearest, and the award is given to up-and-coming bloggers with less than 200 followers.
Here are the rules:
1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top five picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Hope that the people you’ve sent the award to forward it to their five favorite bloggers and keep it going!
Am I only allowed to choose 5?
Well I already choose 10 last time for the Versatile Blogger Award
So this time I’ll choose some different ones that I have found recently.
1. Mommy Are We There Yet? – I have to acknowledge the giver of the award. She used to live in SA but is now in Australia and they are getting ready for IVF in January 2012. Bron, it is great to meet you and I will be following you and hoping that you bring home your baby soon! She found me through the circle bloom blog.
2. Infertility Awakening – The beautiful and eloquent Shannon and fellow competitor in the circle bloom competition. She is really an excellent writer and I am enjoying her very deep posts.
3. Eggs in a Row – she is a very frequent poster and such a real person. Rachel I think your beautiful, coloured eggs are already in a row. Now we just need some Divine Help to get them bearing child!
4. I love you baby very much – She is very close in conception to me and I’m enjoying her pregnancy updates and comments.
5. Colours of Cattiz – My very faithful commentator who is also very close in conception to me. You have been a big support.
By the way, it seems quite a few of us are pregnant at more or less the same time. Can I make another Simultaneously Pregnant Infertile Bloggers Award??! Did the stork go mad round about the same time?!
I just made up some rules: You have to be no more than 2 weeks apart. Then you can list them and cheer them on as you follow their journeys. You guys can let me know if there are more of us out there. (It helps to have a ticker on your blog!) It’s also nice to have these links so I can stalk you!
I’m going to make a list. And I hope I have the figures right.
-Heather (ex) Survive and Thrive (10w2d) (Now onestepatatime.co.za)
-Cattiz Colours of Cattiz (9w4d)
-Iloveyoubabyverymuch (10w4d)
-Mo Mommy Odyssey (10w1d)
-Not undecided 9w3d
– Tippy and Tidy 9 w
-Big P and Me 9w 5d
-Misadventures in Fertility 10w3d
As I was looking through Lost and Found to find all these people who got pregnant at the same time as me, I also was saddened to see some had lost their angels. I think they needsome love.

It just makes you realise, how fleeting success or failure are. For every person who gets anaward, a success, there are dozens of others who fail, who have disappointments that need to be dealt with.
And it is how you deal with that, that will set you up for your next success.

OMG! Thank you for that sweet comment. So nice.
Woman, I want my eggs in a row, but if they aren’t, I’m gonna have to come visit because the US is not ready for this craziness! 🙂
