Sorting out my UIF.

Sorting out my UIF.

Someone asked for an update (Mommy to Be), but actually there isn’t much to update.

I have pretty much been in bed. Every now and then I sit for a bit just to give myself some variety.

Blood pressure has been pretty good, although there have been some fluctuations. On Monday when I went to the midwife it was just ok 140/90 and today with Dr K it was even better, in the 130’s. I only have to see him again next week Wed, so that must mean that things are looking better. Worst case they might move my big day one week earlier.

I decided to finish off some work stuff that has been sitting at home (for my two learners with special needs). I have finished off the whole term for them and handed in the files today. So the work is officially totally over. It really wasn’t stressful stuff, just worksheets to keep me occupied in between sleeping.

The other thing I’ve been busy with is trying to get UIF (Unemployment Insurance Fund) sorted out which is really a big mission, even though I am paying an agency to do it for me (Moms UIF Assist: I totally recommend them, they know what they are doing). In terms of the paperwork, every time you complete a form you send it to them to check and then often have to fix things all over again. It is partly my fault for going on the internet and downloading forms without checking if they were up to date. But at least they are helping and it wouldn’t mean further problems at the department of labour.

Having my mom around has been great. On Sunday we went to Baby City to do my work baby shower registry and that was a lot of fun. In fact we have all the big things, and that should take care of most of the little things. We also went out on Monday for lunch to celebrate. Celebrate what? You ask. Just the fact that I didn’t have to go to hospital again. Believe me I have my bag packed every time I go for an appointment. I am prepared now! Mom also brought up some good videos for me about Kangaroo care and premature babies. So I feel more knowledgeable now about that.

I am also watching rubbish TV. And reading. I am on the second “Hunger Games” book now which is excellent stuff. (A while back when we watched the film B bought the whole set which has been sitting there). Reading fiction is also more relaxing than negotiating all those books about children / pregnancy sitting on my shelf. Oh well, I’ll get there. I have lots of time now.

Glad you are doing well despite the fact you have to stay in bed most of the time. But believe me, even though I can walk around and do stuff, I honestly do not fancy doing much lately. I just feel so tired. So lets just enjoy the sleeping that we have left until our LO comes! Sending hugs xoxo
