Even if you don’t wear spectacles, all of us wear sunglasses. Have you ever given any thought to which frame suits your face best? Well this post will give you the tutorial you need to consider your next set of frames: the right glasses frames for your face.
Step 1: Identify your face shape:
There are four main face shapes.
Oval (narrow forehead & chin, balanced face)
This is the ideal face. To keep the balanced proportions look for frames that are wide (or wider than) the broadest part of the face. Avoid oversized (too big) frames. I have an oval face.
Round (rounded forehead & chin, width and length are the same but rounded)
Here you need to make the face look thinner use angular narrow frames. Rectangular shapes are good. Avoid round and oversized.
Heart (broad forehead, narrow chin, wide and rounded)
To minimise the width of the top of the face, use frames that are wider at the bottom and have light, airy colours. Avoid top heavy or embellished frames.
Square (strong angles, wide forehead and chin)
To make the square look longer go for narrow frame styles. Avoid boxy, oval or heavy brow.
Step 2: Identify your colour tone and style.
You should know if you are a blue undertone (look better in cool colours) or yellow undertone (look better in warm colours). A long time ago I got colour coded as a Winter so I know that I look better in cool colours. You also need to think about your personal style.
Step 3: Now you’re ready to buy your glasses/ shades
There is a way you can purchase and even try on your new glasses without leaving your computer screen. There is a company called Firmoo which is the world’s most popular online eyeglasses store.
They even have this facility where you can “try on” the glasses using your webcam. I used this facility to choose my perfect purple pair. (Good thing you can’t see I was wearing pajamas at the time!)
The glasses arrived via courier from China, no less.
I liked the case and also the little bag it came it. There was also a keyring which has screws you can use as well.
Now I guess you really can say I see the world through rose coloured glasses. 🙂
(This post is not sponsored but I was provided with sunglasses from Firmoo)
